Collecting donations to help vulnerable children and families

Wells Fargo has been working together with Peel Children's Aid Foundation for more than 3 years to help support their mission to improve the lives of vulnerable children, youth, and disadvantaged families.

Wells Fargo team members participated in the Back-to-School Backpack and School Supply Drive, and the Holiday Wishes Program to collect gifts for children and families in need.

Wells Fargo team members also volunteered at the Peel Children's Aid Foundation Distribution Centre to sort donated toys into family gift bags. After volunteers sort the donations, workers who support the families come to the centre and "shop" for what the families need. Every family receives gifts, as well as daily care items like toiletries and clothing.

"It was very rewarding to help gather donations and sort them for families," said Mary McAuslan, executive assistant for Commercial Distribution Finance. "I'm proud to work for an organization that encourages us to volunteer in our communities, and to have colleagues who care like I do about supporting those in need."

In addition to volunteering, United Way made a grant on behalf of Wells Fargo to Peel Children's Aid Summer Camp Program, and Wells Fargo also sponsored their Fierce and Fabulous event on May 24 to empower children and youth.

"The support Peel Children's Aid Foundation has received from Wells Fargo is making positive impacts in vulnerable children and youth in Peel. We are very grateful," said Renae Addis, executive director, Peel Children's Aid Foundation.
