Our commitment to communities
Paving a path to stability and financial success for underserved communities
We concentrate our philanthropic investments on three key areas critical for economic advancement -housing affordability, small business growth,
and financial health - and prioritize the needs of populations and communities suffering from the greatest economic disparities. Learn more‡ about the Wells Fargo Foundation and our work with nonprofits to pave a path to stability and financial success for underserved communities.
As part of Wells Fargo’s commitment to strengthening local communities, we also provide grants to local nonprofit organizations to support a wide range of needs in the communities in which we operate. Through Wells Fargo's donor advised giving program with United Way Worldwide, and with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross, Wells Fargo supports a number of organizations in Canada.
A Special Puppy Named Stanley
Riding to support the Dog Guides
Among the 73 bikers taking part in the Ride for Dog Guides this year was Wells Fargo client Rob Stanley of Samuel, Son & Co., Limited, on his new 2020 Yamaha Venture. Starting out at the Oakville Dog Guide training school and ending at the puppy breeding facility in Breslau, the ride raises funds for the Lions Foundation of Canada which has been providing Dog Guides since 1983.
Working with Indspire
Encouraging and empowering Indigenous youth across Canada
We are working with Indspire, a national charity that invests in the education of Indigenous people. We recently established a Wells Fargo Indigenous Student Award to help students with their post-secondary education. Furthermore, our team members are participating in the Rivers to Success mentorship program, and we will be sponsoring a youth empowerment workshop in 2019.
Supporting through time and donations
Helping vulnerable children and families
Our collaboration with Peel Children's Aid Foundation supports programs to help vulnerable children, youth, and disadvantaged families in the Peel region. Our team members participate in back-to-school and holiday drives, helping to collect donations as well as volunteering time.

Bringing light to rural Kenyan schools
Practicing STEM skills while benefiting communities
Nine rural schools in the Enoosean village of the Kilgoris region of Kenya received the gift of light for their classrooms, thanks to the efforts of local student volunteers, our team member volunteers in Toronto, and the We Share Solar program. Combining solar energy and engineering education with real-world applicability, together they built 15 portable, robust solar lighting systems, all contained in convenient "suitcases."
Packing lunches for a worthy cause
Every little bit counts
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Toronto is a place like home for seriously ill children and their families. The House accommodates 81 families. For the event, our volunteers helped RHMC's Meals on the Go program which provides healthy, packed meals for families who stay at the House. Our team also presented a cheque to RHMC Toronto that will be used for general costs of maintaining the House, as well as for food and other resources needed.
Empowering children through art
Helping at-risk youth build confidence, courage, and their inner leader
DAREarts brings hope to children challenged by life by exposing them to opportunities, engaging them in creativity, and empowering them to be leaders. Our Financial Institutions Group regional manager serves on the board and has been helping the Toronto-area children's summer camp art program raise money and launch performances.
Supporting Alberta Childrens Hospital
Rallying behind family-centred care
For the past several years, we have been supporting the annual Stampede event at the Alberta Children's Hospital by helping patients get in the spirit – even if they can't attend the larger parade happening the following day nearby in downtown Calgary.
Sparking new opportunities
We opened up our Toronto office to host a meeting and networking event for the Canadian Association of Urban Financial Professionals (CAUFP), a member-based resource organization providing a link between corporations and the black communities through education, information, and programs to facilitate economic empowerment.
